Isn't it the most wonderful thing to be someones Secret Valentine?
Unfortunately these days you have to find different ways to surprise youself
- have a blind date with someone you met on the internet - worst case
- send some surprise flowers to yourself - slightly better
- or (much better and much more pleasing) take part in the lovely Secret Valentine Exchange - YES!
Sanae and Ute teamed up to host a Secret Valentine Exchange, loosely based on a Scandinavian Secret Santa tradition called Julklapp.
So my Secret Valentine is Shelley from Australia and it couldn't have matched better, because her favorite color is brey (that's brown and grey because she can't choose) and she likes solids or very subtle prints. Natural fibres like linen or wool.
Everything that I have anyway in my stash and so I flipped a bit through Pinterest to find inspiration, but decided finally on a bag, that she can use as a toilet bag (as it is lined with waxed cotton), a small additional bag and complemented both with some traditional "East Frisian tea" and some Kluntjes (rock sugar)
I realy hope she liked it...
EDIT:
Finally my present arrived in Australia! Please *click and check out if Shelly likes what I made for her ;-)
...and here ist what I recieved from Kristi - all the way from Philadelphia...
beautifully wrapped in a fabric bag |
she even printed a grey valentines tag ;-) |

Dear Kristi, thank you so much for this wonderful, well chosen gift, the nice note and what you wrote about my website!
(and now I am totally flattered and loving my present even more - having read your blogpost...)
It was so much fun being part of this exchange, sending a present to Australia and receiving one from the US.
Thank you Ute and Sanae for hosting the #2015SVE - hope we will send some love again next year!!!
